Frequently asked questions

Is QRcito really free?

Yes, completely free and unlimited. We do not require sign-up, we do not add watermarks, and there is no paid tier. You can generate as many QR codes as you need.

Do QR codes expire?

No. QRcito generates static QR codes, which means the content is encoded directly in the pattern. They will keep working forever as long as the destination (for example, the URL) stays live.

Can I use these QR codes commercially?

Yes. QR codes are an open standard and the ones you generate with QRcito are 100% yours. Use them on print, products, packaging, ads — no licensing fees.

What is the difference between PNG and SVG?

PNG is a raster image, great for screens, social media and digital documents. SVG is vector-based, scales to any size with no quality loss, and is the best choice for print and large formats like posters or billboards.

Why should I add a logo to my QR code?

A logo adds brand identity and builds trust when someone scans the code. QRcito automatically sets error correction to the maximum level (H) when a logo is added, so the code stays readable.

What is error correction and which level should I pick?

It is the QR code's ability to keep working even if part of it is damaged or covered. L (7%) makes the code more compact; H (30%) makes it more robust and is required when adding a logo. M is a solid balance for most uses.

What size should a printed QR code be?

Rule of thumb: the QR should be at least 1/10th of the distance from which it will be scanned. For a poster read from 1 meter, a 10x10 cm QR works well. Always download SVG for print to preserve sharpness.

Does QRcito collect the data I enter?

No. All processing happens in your browser: the QR content is never sent to any server. We do not use tracking cookies or invasive analytics.

Can I edit the QR content after generating it?

No — static QR codes are not editable. If you need to change the URL, generate a new one. Editable (dynamic) QRs require a redirection service, which QRcito does not offer to keep the tool free and server-less.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. QRcito is fully responsive and works on iPhone, Android, tablet and desktop. You can generate, preview and download QR codes from any device.
